Is a South American tour an impossible dream?

The thing is that manic fans like me who live in South America are totally unable to see them live (unless I travel to the UK). So I wanted to know why MSP have never visited Argentina, Brazil or Chile, I really think they would make successful gigs here, the fan base is big and the fact that in more than 20 years of existence they never came, adds a little more mystic to the subject.

Maybe you manic fans of the first world know something about this theme. I need to see them live at least once in my life!

Plenty of South American fans keep hoping but dunno if it will ever happen! I wish it would happen for you all though!

You have some pretty good festivals over there don't you? at least, In Chile.
I don't know. Maybe it's too hard for them to organise/ would take up too much time in terms of travelling-gig ratio. Maybe they never really thought of it. Maybe the fan bases are very spead out, and they wouldn't be able to choose particular cities.

I think they would fill a 3000 people theater, like the one in Flores...

PD: ¿hay otros argentinos en el foro?

the problem with the far reaches of the world, like us down here, you over in South America and even beyond, is that concerts / festivals and tours to our part of the world require a huge amount of sponsorship to make them financially viable.

whereas many bands have been down here that had no problem whatsoever with playing on a stage dominated by massive Coca Cola banners (U2, Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs, etc), you kind of get the feeling that the Manics wouldn't be prepared to do that sort of thing.

i'd like to think that the band are probably frustrated by the fact that they can't play to as many of their fans as possible, but who knows, perhaps they have now been on Sony for so long that they no longer give a fuck about who does and doesn't get to see them just as long as the money keeps rolling in.

Plausible, to say the least.
