Ah, but which version? Australia or Lipstick Traces?

Does anyone know why that happened btw?

Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head (I clearly remember when that came out - their first release since The Holy Bible and since Richey's disappearance)

Yep, the later one on Lipstick Traces is different to the first one which was a B-side on one of the Australia single CDs. The Lipstick Traces one is a bit more beefed-up I'd say.

This thread has reminded me how many of the Manics cover versions I actually prefer to the original versions (not all, but probably a majority)... Just happened to listen to Primitive Painters again today, as one example, lovely.

Enjoyed their cover of Lenny Kravitz 'It Ain't Over 'til It's Over' on Postcards.

Eheheh, I thought this thread was about their CD covers or something, you know, images.

Well, they've got quite a repertoire of cover songs, the ones I especially like in Manics' versions are... Charles Windsor, absolutely, energetic and lively and hard core and makes me wanna pogo. Can't Take My Eyes Off You, it's simply pleasant hearing James crying out loud words like "I love you baby". Fairy Tale of New York, that one is just cute.

I might come back with more.

Wrote For Luck is one of the highlights of the GATS era for me, but I always seem to forget its existence.
