Really? There's been plenty of negative reviews in the past, I think it's a bit much to suggest positive ones are just because they are mates.

Sure, but there's a difference in my opinion and thinking every critic should share it

The discussion was based around overrating rather than positivity, though. Overrating is inevitably where all backlashes come from.

There can't be a single person on here who genuinely believes Simon Price's "bonafide masterpiece" soundbite or that he believes it himself.

No problem believing that tweet or that he rates Futurology behind THB and EMG, merely a dispute over his definition of the word 'masterpiece' from me.

I don't know, Simon Price has given them negative enough tweets and reviews in the past...reviewers always come with a pinch of salt, but perhaps he actually likes it.

He rates it in his top 3 albums by the band, and after a month or so his opinion on it hadn't wavered, fair to say he's ridiculously enthusiastic about this album in particular.

Some of the songs end a little too abruptly for my taste.

Any known plans of the Manics touring this album? Maybe it will begin in September this year like it did last year with the Rewind The Film Tour.

They haven't toured this album, the last one was a bit of a preview. They've said they'll do a proper tour to support Futurology in the UK later this year.

There's no confirmation of any tour, though. They played a fair number of songs over the whole of the last tour.

Hopefully they come to Ireland too. James always say how much the band loves the Olympia Theatre whenever they play there.
