Cool Glastonbury 2017?

Manics are playing Bristol on the Thursday before Glasto (which is logistically speaking down the road)

Efestivals now listing them as a 'Strong Rumour', a status usually reserved for 'pretty much happening' : http://www.efestivals.co.uk/festival...7/lineup.shtml (click on A-Z)

It'd make sense, every 3-4 years seems to be their thing.

I can safely say that we can now officially rule out the Manics coming back to New Zealand in 2017 for the Lions tour. Tour is from 3 June to 8 July.

Partial announcement today. They're not on it, but they're not not playing...

What an awful line up to be fair. The radio 1 listeners will be very happy with that.

TBA up the Park on Friday evening.. Bit of a weird one if that does turn out to be them though. The Park has hosted loads of "surprise" gigs over the years, but not sure they've had someone who was conveniently in Bristol the night before. It's almost a shame for em not to do it when they're basically there anyway.

Half expected em to get the Other Stage opening slot, but that's been filled actually on the lineup now.. Didn't that used to be a secret too? Or at least some vague attempt of secret..

At one point it seemed as if they were doing it, a promoters email about Bristol made reference to Glastonbury.

Perhaps asking for more money than Glasto will pay, or a day they can't accommodate, or a stage they don't want to be seen on.
