A stadium gig must be more cost-effective/lucrative than a 10 or 12 gig theatre tour. They must not have made too much with THB stuff (they did do two legs of it after all - must've been a (financial) reason for that).
I like the concept of the EMG era, the non-look, and the songwriting - but EMG is prob my least fav album to listen to. As they've often said, it's their first and most British sounding album and I just find it too loud and brash. Unless they have big massive fucking screens and cool video backdrops etc etc then I can't see it being too much of a spectacle. Really disappointing that they've gone back to the re-issue plan. Write some songs. Put them out. It doesn't have to be high concept or anything. The days of making a critical never mind commercial impact with each release are done. We want to celebrate a band going forward not looking back. |

Looks absolutely awesome!
I'm so upset I won't be able to go... well I guess I can't travel all the way to Swansea when 8 months pregnant. Fingers crossed they'll do some more gigs around the UK after Super exciting though, it'll be AMAZING! |

I think gigs generate a lot of money for artists, they'll have made a mint. After they completed the initial tour there was still a huge amount of demand for additional dates and they did a great job of capitalising on that

Sean looks like he's going to murder someone...
I'll buy tickets just in case but I'm holding out for a tour. Nicky did say they were finalising a European tour, if an EMG set is on the cards for that I would prefer it to a stadium gig. And quite honestly, they are not a stadium band. The sound is shit and they don't do any interesting visuals (at least with Muse you sort of get your money's worth there). I imagine they will announce a limited tour, it would be a waste to do so much preparation for one show.

Even the NT gig at the London O2 was a bit meh and that's only 20,000. I prefer sound quality and intimacy to spectacle. I don't want to spend 5-10 minutes trying to find a toilet and then politely trying to pass in front of people to get back to my friends.

If it's "lucrative" you'd think it won't be the only one. Perhaps warm up shows in the Cardiff Castle style. We'll see.

I have seen MSP dozens of times and can honestly say every time it's been outdoors the material/they have not come across well. The last time outdoors was the Millenium thing and maybe they've improved as a stadium band since then, but I for one am not going to chance it. Yes, it's more lucrative to do a stadium show, but it won't be as good for the fans.
If it's about nostalgia (and clearly it is) then we should remember the EMG tour was an indoor tour, of medium-sized arenas, some large SUs, etc. Perhaps money has won over purity to the concept, but to be fair it could also be that they don't want to spend too much time on this. They might well want to dedicate their efforts to a new album rather than do 10-15 EMG shows. |

£55 quid for a ticket?! For their own show that must be a record.
