I've listened to it a fair bit over the last month. I really like, if anything for the fact it is something different, and I wan't mad on Postcards.

Show me the Wonder I would class with So Why So Sad in the strange-pop-single category, but Sullen Welsh Heart, Anthem and the title track are all excellent.

I'm listening to right now

Apart from show me the wonder which I love but doesn't fit the album, it's such a nice album to listen to when travelling by train gazing out the window

Also builder of routines is the greatest song the (sgt pepper era) Beatles never wrote. Sonically It's almost like a lost Lennon and McCartney tune

Had Rewind the Film on recently. I'm bored shitless of the two singles but otherwise this is an album that will stick with me for some time I reckon. I attended a lot of that tour and in spite of them going on about how Futurology was inspired by travel, it's this album that reminds me of trundling through the Welsh countryside.

I listen to it occasionally when I'm on my walks through the valleys and mountains, and it sounds perfect.

Ha I was just thinking about this the other day.

I do listen to it but rarely as a whole and not for any particular reason. I still love some of the tracks (This Sullen Welsh Heart, Show Me The Wonder, 4 Lonely Roads, As Holy as the Soil) and never skip when they come on shuffle.

I still listen to all the albums - and I listen to RTF more than I listen to PFAYM.

Most-listened RTF track? Tokyo Skyline, probably.

Don't listen to it at all these days.

I really like 3-4 tracks but there's too many I can't abide I'm afraid.

That's my view of PFAYM.

PFAYM is my least favourite Manics album by far.

I think we agree once more!

Postcards has a few cracking songs but I think most here aren't too keen on it.

I recall being a little disappointed the morning PFAYM came out but thought, 'It'll grown on me - it is the Manics, after all...'

It hasn't grown on me, no matter how many times I listen to it. It has its high points, of course, but it remains rather underwhelming.

The b-sides from that era were much better than the album.

I'm still in 'Futurology' mode at the moment but 'RTF' is still a lovely record. But then I really like 'Postcards', so what do I know?

Yep, I'm still listening to Futurology and its associated b-sides. Last Time I Saw Paris has been top of my most-played tracks since I got it. Still really rate the Erol Alkan remixes too (aware I'm in the minority in that regard).

Has there been a backlash against Last Time I Saw Paris on here yet?

Sorry, off-topic.

No, it seems pretty popular I think. I like it but think they were right to leave it off the main album tracklist - unlike 'Empty Motorcade' which definitely should have made that record.

re: the Alkan remixes - I still can't hear the difference between them, even when I play them back-to-back.

True - but does that necessarily impact on their quality?
