Why are people willing to spend £500 on a slipcase?

Maybe they took pity on you by withdrawing it. Given the choice of paying £17 for the regular edition or £25 for that, I'd go with the regular one. As it is, I'll wait for Fopp to sell the regular for £3.

Because it's a Manics slipcase.

I like you, if the book ever comes out, will wait for the price to go down to a few quid in HMV. They were selling Death of A Polaroid for 99p on the day of that signing in Cardiff HMV when Futurology came out.

I noticed that you pre-ordered a copy this morning of Kevin Cummins' Assassinated Beauty (Limited Edition). I'm afraid to say we've just been asked to postpone publication of the book until 2015 (most likely - though we can't confirm a date), so we won't be able to fulfill your order in November.

We wouldn't have taken any payment for the book until the book was dispatched, so you haven't been charged. But given the uncertainty of whether or not the book will even be published, I wanted to ask if you'd like your order to stay on our system, or if you'd prefer for us to cancel your order completely?

I'm going to have to check that with my colleague. Apparently there's a chance that both editions will be delayed but I'll get proper confirmation and let you know.

Oh dear.
so there is a possibility of it being forever delayed?

I'll get my coat...
