It was a really bloody good gig, this one.
Band seemed to enjoy themselves and the crowd were really 'up' without ever being too rowdy. Nicky was once again in the red velvet suit for the first half, and the sailor hat and white jeans made another appearance in the second half (different jacket though). At one point Nicky said "I'd kiss every single one of you if I had the energy". TRY, BABY, TRY! YOU CAN AT LEAST MAKE IT TO THE FRONT ROW YEAH? James was super-hyperactive Tigger again. Would not stand still Nicky was really active for about three songs then came to an abrupt halt, and put in a good effort after that but I got the distinct impression he was in a fair bit of pain/discomfort, and at one point I'm sure I saw him mouth "my legs!" to James in a somewhat anguished fashion. Told ya they were overdoing it last night! Ready For Drowning again. LUSH! Cate Le Bon was proper lush again. Wish she was doing a few more shows. She seemed to enjoy her own set a lot more too. Told the audience they were better than the one at Dublin and made a lot of jokes ("some of these are from my new album so you won't know them, but pretend you do and give them a good reception!"). Nicky talked about their first Belfast gigs. "Richey was pissed, James walked off for some mysterious reason, I had an argument with myself...". Hope somebody recorded it, because I can't remember what he said about Sean! I'm beginning to find James' 'Lucy Rose' voice quite hysterically funny. I love the song too much to let it distract me though. Once again the band seem really happy with the way RTF has been received and the way the new material goes down live. 30 Year War is turning into a bit of a leviathan live too, wouldn't be surprised if it survives into the next tour.

Pleasure!

I love 'Builder Of Routines'! I have a feeling we've heard as many tracks as we're going to get now, which would be such a shame because I'm loving the new album beyond belief.
