I've just discovered that I've been singing Born to End wrong all these years and it's actually Nagasaki dolls are burning and not dogs

I know it's been tough for bands (The Strokes faded after number one album, and other bands faced similar) but I would like a few weeks of this album.

Well at least it charted higher than The Madcap Laughs, different artist and context obviously.
Not burying the album, nothing can take anything away from it.
I really hope the End Of Year polls favour it, and even a Mercury nomination happens for the album.
The way to madness is thinking what if no Covid, but we have only the luxury of the album's existence!

Midweek position.

But it is what is. JDB isn’t a solo artist. It would have been nice but highly unlikely that any outside of the fan base was going to take more that a passing interest on Spotify.

Sometimes I ask myself with MSP stuff, "if I wasn't already involved, not already on forever delayed etc. etc. - would I have noticed any of the promotion as a member of the public new to the band?"

even with JDB seemingly taking on dozens of interviews that's always a no. It must be so hard to reach people these days.

So instead I just buy the bundles as they come up, because if we won't spend a quid on them then who will?

I don't notice half the things that are released. If it wasn't for me following manics related accounts and this forum I would likely have missed James's album.
I don't listen to the radio much and all the magazines I used to buy are almost all defunct.
No real music shows on TV other than jools Holland and I sometimes forget that's on.
I know there's online articles and reviews but the ads interrupt the flow of articles and it puts me off.

So yeah keeping up with music is hard ...I'm reduced to checking Amazon new releases every so often

I don't know if it's a new problem - I remember hearing TLORN on TOTP back in 2004, in the background while I was working on some college homework and being utterly surprised there was some new material from the band! It's certainly worse now though!
The radio interviews he did will probably get a wider audience, but everything else these days is a filter bubble.
How do the Spotify users on here find the new music recommendations? I use Apple Music and most of the time the "new music for you" playlists is heavily bias towards American acts.

I recommend an app called "MusicHarbor" - it scans your music library and lets you "follow" artists, so you get a notification whenever something new is released. Not being on Twitter and seldomly checking Facebook, this was probably how I first learnt of "There'll come a war". It works for concerts too.

I have a Spotify account but I listen to such a small amount of music on there, the recommends are very limited. I've never imported my collection to it or anything. Tend to use it to listen to stuff from the periodical Amazon browsing or something a friend has recommended. It's This is Victor Jara playlist is good

Piccadilly Records in Manchester have a good review section on their site for new releases. It does the job for me.

Enjoying the JDB album. So much better than the last manics album, which wouldn't be hard.
