Doesn't matter, all the more reason for a few pints and some dinner in the pub before MSP take to the stage.

Eagulls for Leeds is surely a master stroke. Putting on an up and coming local band last minute will surely put some more bums on seats, look em up on youtube, they're good.

Scritti Politti, Jesus wept......

Local support acts are a good idea. Future of The Left for Cardiff? That would be nice.

Is supporting the Manics the most difficult occupation in rock? http://drownedinsound.com/news/41475...pation-in-rock

It's a fair point, I've often wondered if the fact there seem to be so few bands obviously influenced by the Manics (have Kenesis or Miss Black America ever supported them?) means they've always had to have slightly odd seeming support acts. Still, I got into Elbow as a result of seeing them support the Manics, so it's been worth it!

Kinesis did support them I believe.

I've seen a few good Manics support acts. Joy Formidable & British Sea Power were particularly good. Feeder and The Super Furries at Manic Millenium. I also saw Ian Brown though. And Pris. You can't have it all.

Just listening to Eagulls by Eagulls, if this band can pull it off live we're in for a treat in Leeds, Stranglers, Bunnymen, Killing Joke, Cure , they're all in there, really good album.

Ian Brown was particularly rubbish. I don't remember anything being flung at him at the Glasgow gig, but he might have deserved it. I remember a drunk lady throwing her knickers at the singer of Cherry Ghost in Aberdeen.

In recent years BSP, Joy Formidable and the Delays seemed to go down well, so maybe Manics fans have relaxed a bit?

Best case scenario, definitely. That would be bloody phenomenal.

Eagulls are really interesting. They have nailed that early 80s Killing Joke tribal post-punk sound, they've even covered them on the B-Side of their latest single. Should go down well, shame they're not playing Cardiff.

Scritti Politti - Always liked that Pray Like Aretha Franklin song, tried some of their other stuff though...not so good. The singer sounds like a Bee Gee!

Who is supporting in Cardiff does anybody know? Is it going to be a big last minute surprise?
