That was a good read but it sounds like we may be waiting for Wire's Muse to return or at the very least we can expect another SATT or maybe something along the lines of " Let's Fetch Back Those Tigers", "Come back you crazy Tigers".

Well as long as this time we get a double album of everything good about the SATT period, including b-sides, I'm happy!
Two more short records might be too long to wait for, so one final surge forward would do me. And then too if they feel Rock is dying (No more than it was in the 90's. Yeah you had more guitar bands then, but how many of them were sounding like the future and not 70's throwbacks).

If they curl out another SATT I'm taking a few years out.

I love ELO but I don't want the manics doing an album in that style. Move foward and make an important record

I second that . Looking forward to it even if it's a long wait. It'll be worth it

Thanks for that. It's a good read. Does it become harder and harder to make an album the older you get? Reading between the lines the next album could be the last, but I could rest easy with that. I think it's safe to say we won't see anything for at least 12 months.

I don't think it'll be the last, Nicky loves being a Manic too much. My money's on a big, all-out melodic rock album (not SATT or PFAYM pts II - they're on a good experimental roll at the moment - something huge but weird and spacey I hope). That'll be 2017, two years of touring, then I guess another greatest hits in 2021 (Christ, that's a scary number) - but I do believe the Manics will be going well into their fifties.

Me too. They seem to love being in a band far too much to pack it in. Fine by me !

Yeah, yeah, every next Manics' album is "the last".
I think it's about time we just leave that kind of perception about them, isn't it?

Looking forward to the new album, btw.

Nice that the interviewer is a genuine fan. Shame that they and the site can't proofread for shit.

I like ELO. Maybe the Manics can get a bit sci-fi and do a tour with the stage setup as a flying saucer.

Yes. You've said things you already wanted to say, the audience shrinks a little and of course the band looks back to snappier, angrier youthful days. Over time that can take its toll. Hell, I made a record at 29 and it was hard work! At 25 not so much.

But urgh. The whole "there's no good new music" schtick. I hate it when bands say that. There's absolutely tonnes!
