If they were smart, they'd get Guy Massey back in for the Holy Bible gigs!

Wayne is fine, just as long as no vocals.

The problem with Wayne would be that he style's himself the same way as Richey did. Floppy hair and skinny as fuck.

Oh yeah, the back vocals... Can never listen to Slash n Burn as well...

I find Richey's endless pacing from walking up the the mic and then to the rear of the stage somewhat annoying. Perhaps this deflected some of the attention away from him playing guitar. If he stood still, he would be scrutinised more?

What a barnstorming performance of that song! Must admit I've never really listened to the Astoria shows. Thanks for pointing that one out

As for sound... I always think the best MSP sound is when there's just James on guitar. There's something great about the struggle to fill the spareness of the music that really holds it all together.

I recently watched the '94 astoria gigs on YT aswell, and love Motown Junk (I think it was that one) where he was left alone while James exited stage briefly.
So who actually went to these Astoria gigs? Tell me your stories and make me jealous

It was the other way round wasn't it? Started off as the best performance of the song I've heard, then the idiot soundman turned James right down thinking Richey was the lead.

Correct. James gets turned down which is a real shame.

Define play guitar? I have mastered a few chords, but I'm no James Dean Bradfield.

you don't have to play guitar like James to know how to play it. It depends what you're playing, some things are easier than others
