They are simply not able to do something different than their own style, their cover versions are worse than the originals, and every "experiment" is shit (So Why So Sad, Nixon, Grace of God, even Tsunami: here you can see that they only need one slightly different instrument to make it sound like Oktoberfest).
They should listen to Sandinista! one million times, possibly one of them will realize that it doesn't need to be horrible embarrassing shit when you do something different. I hope their children will be 15/16 soon to tell them how embarrassing this is.
Sorry for the rant, but here nobody knows them, but everybody knows that I'm a fan. If they hear this in the radio, I have to kill myself.
Krautrock stylee one is due after this one! Brace yourself!

I always like new Manics albums when they come out, so I'm prone to hyperbole, but Rewind The Film might just be their best album not to feature lyrics by Richey Edwards…

The videos they've been doing really give the whole album a sense of place and purpose as well.

Postcards from a young man i didnt mind but the videos for it were fucking terrible, half arsed promotion for it, rewind the film is a good album but if I went to a show and they mostly played tracks from it I'd be dissapointed apart from sullen welsh heart there's nothing I'd be dying to hear live.

After a few weeks of living with RTF (and realising I actually quite like PFAYM):

The Holy Bible (10/10)
Journal For Plague Lovers (9/10)
Everything Must Go (9/10)
Gold Against The Soul (8/10)
This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours (8/10)
Generation Terrorists (7/10)
Postcards From A Young Man (7/10)
Lifeblood (7/10)
Send Away The Tigers (6/10)
Know Your Enemy (6/10)
Rewind The Film (6/10)

I like it, but I just think the self-enforced no electric guitars limitation (which they break anyway) works against their strengths on some of the songs. (I miss the) Les Pauls.
