That's gonna take more than a remaster... all the B-Sides in one place would be nice though

Complete overkill releasing this. Won't be buying.

I'm quite looking forward to the uncut Nynex gig and the new documentary but like the THB boxset I'm a bit disappointed with the audio content. Its a shame that none of the demos from the previous set or any others weren't on this instead of the remixes. I love hearing the demos and think some representation of the creative process is more appropriate on the set then some mixes someone else did.

With the last four albums and GT all coming with full discs of demo's its a bit strange that they are now suddenly absent. Maybe because they were on the previous 10th anniversary editions and they rather have live tracks instead as extras.

I think it's to resist the suggestion that we're being sold the same thing again!

Indeed, in terms of general content, the first re-issue with the original Stephen Hague mixes etc was a bit better. Arguably a full remaster and remix can be interesting if done well (see Albini/In Utero for more of that kind of thing....)

True, but it also feels like it's ensure that people have to buy both to have the full collection.

What really bugs me about this is the release of everything live in full on there

That was a cracking performance and I have a copied version of the original VHS which is worse for wear now, as we all now how vhs deteriorates over time

They released as a DVD in japan but not worldwide - why?
They have made the whole gig for the first time on this box set - why no standalone dvd

I know this is the label and not the band - so not a dig at them, but sony are arseholes

The Japanese version of EL was released the same time as the 2 disc versions (also Japan only) of all the previous albums. I think it was purely a decision by Sony Japan, not by Sony as a whole or the band.

I know the band have little day in these matters

But wether it was sony or sony Japan or whatever, they know there is a market for this and sticking it on the box set is a bit of a crappy move by the

Sony UK probably thought no one would buy it on its own. A lot of live DVDs are chucked in as bonus discs nowadays I think.

The Guardian have some photos/lyric sheets from the box set here : http://www.theguardian.com/music/gal...ry-in-pictures
Not quite sure why but was suprised how fully formed Elvis Impersonator was from Richey, have I half remembered a quote from Nicky saying he added a lot to it ?

Not trolling at all, but this Guardian thing just shows to me how weak the lyrics are in the album. Design for Life is HUGELY overrated. Clearly the first line resonates but apart from that it's incredibly rudimentary, particularly in terms of this so called 20 page total package that Jimbo got from the Pure Motive and Design for Life lyrics.

(Tolerate is Wire's best lyric for me with the TIMT era easily his best era)

Taking the time to read the EMG song lyric from this article is the most striking of all. From the music I've always considered the song overly bombastic. But reading it in Wire's handwriting to me shows how vulnerable a lyric it is.
