Aw, I love Know Your Enemy.
I don't know why, but I never heard Found That Soul till I got the album, and I didn't get the album till my birthday. It's only really since Send Away The Tigers and being more internety that I've wanted to hear stuff as soon as it's been premiered. Was a special era for me, first time I could afford to see em and as much as I love This Is My Truth, I found the leap to Know Your Enemy fucking exciting at the time. Happy Birthday, you speckled beast. |

I absolutely love it for the fact its a fucked up mess. I do secretly wish they had of really went for the double album idea or went for the Cuban/socialist/completely fucking pretentious angle and cut the album down to the tunes with the Cuban themes in them.
Either way I fucking love it. I do skip tracks when I listen to it but in many ways its the most naked Manics album and its why I love the band. Love FTS, the lyric for IA, think LRS is beautiful, BE is hugely underrated, although they play OS as an acoustic rock power-pop song there is a post-punk version of that tune dying to get out, love the shitness of DM and E, and FOS is quality. Having WAABN as a hidden track is a bit cack though. |

Know Your Enemy was my first 'waiting for a Manics album to come out with all the build up etc' so very fond memories of it! Shall get it out again and have a listen!

I got it the day after it came out, because a shop back home had the fucking wrong release date on the wall! I walked past it on the Monday and had to double take, but didn't have the money with me (or a bank card).
