Happy Ending

It was horrible even before they carried on for another nine years (and counting). Should have been chucked on the STFU bonfire along with Underdogs.

I normally tend to let sleeping dogs lie and understand people have their opinions etc but I am genuinely baffled at the mentions of Valley Boy.

Not only wasn't it happy. It wasn't even an ending.

Shocked by some of the choices in this thread!

Failure Bound and this latest Nicky spoken thing once I've heard it no doubt!

I quite like Socialist Serenade, musically enjoyable certainly. 'No one knows what its like to be me' gets my vote, terrible lyrics "Dr and dentist, housewife and thief" and the music lacks both melody and energy.
Aw I absolutely love No One Knows, and First Republic which someone else mentioned.

'Engage With Your Shadow' is fast becoming one of my favourite b-sides - inventive and different sounding to anything else in their catalogue. I can't believe the negative reaction it's had. It's certainly a lot better than 'Failure Bound' which would be my choice of worst b-side.

Everyone Knows/Nobody Cares is definitely one of my favourite "middle period" b-sides. Care to elaborate on what you hate about it ISNo1? I'm curious, to me it represents their (admittedly misguided) disco ambitions finally fulfilled in something other than toe-curling horror

I agree about FR, although the production is a bit odd (it all feels a bit unbalanced, especially the vocals). I love Socialist Serenade too, I don't see what you could have against it - it's a belter!

The description of 'Good Morning Comrades' as a chore is spot on though...

Oh great are you going to make me have to listen to it? It's been a few years.
