Leaving the 20th Century
How much difference is there between the video and the DVD versions of this? I have the video, (it cost me a small fortune having it converted to play here in the US!), but it's starting to show some wear. I'm thinking of getting the DVD, especially now that I've found some free software that will let me play DVDs from regions other than mine (1), on my computer.

Get the DVD, and get a multiregion DVD player to play it on (or search for a multiregion code on the net for the player you have)

I bought it on VHS when it came out and last year finally bought it on DVD. Better on DVD as you can skip to any song you want instantly....there's a few bonus tracks of the lads performing live in the studio (Tolerate and Ready For Drowning) and some extended interview snippets although they're really short and not much to write about. But yeah, get the DVD

I loved the studio extras - Ready for Drowning especially. I was really hoping there could have been more that would have wound up on the TIMT 10 year release - naturally, such a release never emerged.

If there's not too much difference, I'll wait to get the DVD until I can better afford it. I only watch the video once a year, on New Year's Eve, anyway. My tape will hold up for another year or two.

Does anyone else have the problem of the audio being out of sync with the video on this DVD? I am in the states and i'm playing this on a "universal" player. My other Manics DVDs (louder than war, forever delayed) play fine, only this one seems out of sync.

It's worth buying the DVD just for the subtitles during the gig, dear God.

I was wondering - does anyone know where does the title of this dvd come from? I found that Mark Lamarr had shows entitled like this
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0205661/ any clues?

I was under the impression the origin of the 'leaving the 20th century' tagline was a situationist thing to begin with, if that's what you're referring to - http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...e_20th_Century
