Refering to the subject of a painting as "a fat slag" is hardly constructive, or insightful artist criticism though is it?

That's quite neat actually. Beats the hell out of a photo of the band. Unless there's been some major reconstructive surgery going on

most of their albums have been iconic (apart from KYE), this is just a photo of two birds coming home from a halloween party?

I'd hardly call anything past 'The Holy Bible' iconic except 'Everything Must Go' maybe, afterall the cover is basicly the same layout as the bible.I think this cover is great tho, I hope that grainy-ness of the photo stays, everything is digital now it makes me sick.

Good cover, if it is that. I'm liking this artwork, I think it's a move back to their artwork being more challenging and interesting after KYE. That was just a stroppy mess (like the music?) which didn't really prove anything. But if you look at the visceral THB cover, or the sleek, completely different, EMG cover then you can see they are visually at their best when it's a little unexpected. Lifeblood was a step back towards this and now SATT has done it properly.

Plus the two girls look normal. There's so little normality in the media these days, it's nice to see it.

THB is the only one I'd apply the iconic label too. The rest fall into the categories of garish and horrible (GT) and tasteful but dull (everything else).

On the SATT Wikipedia page, there's this photo

Does anyone know where this image came from? I'd really like this to be the official artwork, cos it's just so damn cool.

Ash.
I love the fact that the girl with the devil horns has such an innocent look on her face while the (angel-ish?) one is giving a rather dark&sexy richeyesque look. Oh the irony.

Come on now, get that bee out of your bonnet, I have apologised for the offensive and degrading nature of the first post of this thread.

Oh, Valerie Philips is already quite notable music photographer.
I didn't know she took my favorite 'Nick Cave-PJ Harvey' photos!!

Maybe it's based on that famous advert, with the two toddlers. One child is black, and dressed like a devil, but looks scared and upset. The other is white and angelic looking, but looks almost sinister in it's grin.

*Looks for it on google*

Is it Manhattan Bridge?

I know there was debate early on about which bridge this is.
In view of the New York connection now established I am wondering if its Manhattan Bridge in the background superimposed onto a different photo of the path and girls.
