Anti-Love & Destroy The Dancefloor

Anyone else wish there was a studio recording of these tracks ? especially Anti-love.

Definitely! Would love to have heard all the early tracks done properly in the studio.

Definitely, a sort of pre GT album of all those songs with clearer Jamesness would be excellent.

But what would be the point? I've heard the songs and they've come so far since then. The songs just weren't good enough to be adapted into others it seems?

I dunno mate, I see what you're saying, but I would of liked Anti-Love to have at least surfaced as a B-side on a GT single.

Oh as a GT single? I thought you were talking about them recording them today! Yeah, bit of a mystery then why they didn't appear on any b-sides.
All I can think of is they didn't have much faith in them? From the titles alone they sound standard "anti-baggy" reactionary stuff. Would have loved to have been a fly in the wall when they asked The Chemical Brothers to remix them if they did record "Destroy The Dancefloor" though!

I think they didn't put them out because they thought they were rubbish...and they are a bit!

Lol, no re-recording, that would be pointless. But then again did they ever record it in the first place ? seems after the Horse & Groom in '89 they just ditched it, unless a unreleased studio version is gaining 20 inches of dust in Nicky's basement.

Probably would have favoured Anti-love as to something like Soul Contamination.

Are Vision of Dead Desire and New Art Riot not enough?!

Agreed, UK Channel Boredom is much better than Vision Of Dead Desire.

Some of the early bsides were equally a little rubbish, in a charming sort of way.

Probably hence becoming B-sides, I think they are still fun to listen to from to time though.
