In typical FD fashion. Following lots of buzz and excitement of a reissue and hope for a tour. As soon as it's announced there's just lots of moaning.

Not sure why people are complaining about the base ticket prices? Manics tickets have been between £40 and £55 since I could remember. The other surcharges are industry wide sadly.

I recently booked tickets for a charity gig. Somehow Gigsandtours saw fit to charge over £17 worth of surcharges for it. But that's the UK, cartels and monopolies is what we love.

The NT night in December 2011 was £38

If I'm right THB Tour in 2014 was a bit less

Booking Fees have risen on purpose when the law changed in January this year in terms of all the fees so what they are all doing is charging it within the BF which is a joke, I don't need to book something I'm already going to!!

Surely this is a pretty standard price? When we’re tickets for a band of this size in those venues any cheaper?
If there was a standard set list from the last tour which contained the usual but also born a girl and be natural, we’d all be going apeshit. It’s not about the singles or whatever they play after, it’s to see those songs which may never be played again. In thrilled for all this.

I doubt it’s about going to see I’m Not Working being played live for anyone. It’s not even a song I mind on the album but it’s gonna be hard work in the middle of a concert for them and the audience. Everyone will be asleep by the second verse.

The price, to me, just feels the same as it always has, when you account for inflation

I'm paying £120+ to see Paul McCartney at Christmas, those are the ones you wonder about

It's one of the songs I'm most looking forward to seeing live. It'll probably go down like a lead balloon but at least it's not in a half empty hanger this time (c.f. 'Horses Under Starlight' last tour)

I thought the online tickets would be more expensive than the venue. They're now showing on the website, though I'm not sure if the £45 includes the booking fee. I'm also not sure how fast they'll go? It's a nice venue and I'd like stalls, so I'll probably book through Ticketmaster anyway.

But shouldn't they be opposed to that kind of thing happening?

No, that’s exactly what it’s about for me

Same. I'm there for the deep cuts. It's not like I'm in a rush to hear You Stole the Tolerate from my Tsunami again

As others have said I'm not sure whether it is an album that really merits being played in full. I would say that the Holy Bible and Everything Must Go did as they are master pieces, but I'm not so sure TIMT quite sits in that category.

Like some previous posts have mentioned, I think a setlist with an increased number of songs from TIMT (The Everlasting, Tolerate, You Stole the Sun, Not Ready For Drowning, Tsunami, My Little Empire, Black Dog on My Shoulder along with Prologue to History) would suffice.

This.
Though I suppose the positive is thanks for making it easier for me to grab pre-sale tickets.

I take your point about the flow of a gig, but we spent how many years wining about setlists on here? Songs that we were sick of a few years ago are largely out and instead they’re saying ‘ok, you can have everything then - even horses under fucking starlight gets an airing, there you go!’. And still FD isn’t happy?

We wanted rarities and deep cuts? That’s what we’ve been getting over the last few years. I think the move down to smaller places is an admission that this might not be one the casual fans will be all over, and that it would fall flat in an arena. But some of these places are almost club gigs.

You're not wrong - but my image of the Manics of this decade is them playing Motorcycle Emptiness and You Stole the Sun on repeat with James in a suit that's too big for him pointing the guitar at the audience because low and behold there's another new guitarist on stage behind him.

If there was some suggestion they might be some different tracks in the second part them I'd be tempted but I don't know. There are only so many times to hear ME, International Blue, YLU, MJ, Your Love Alone, EMG etc etc, especially when James plays less and less guitar on them.
