Yeah Lifeblood had a great set of lyrics (though the tendency to repeat verses already started to be in full swing), but it's been fairly downhill since then.

you lot sure it isn't 'you got the books i got the scars'?

I hope it's that, far more pithy!

edit- ignore that, sounds like looks, nevermind...

The more I listen to it the more I hear, 'Triumphs over loss' (apart from the very last line) but that may be far too positive for a Manics lyric.

Plus I think it is stars, I can hear a t... I hope it's stars.

Lyrics don't seem too bad actually, wasn't sure about them when I was listening to it.

Very average as far as I'm concerned. When you consider some of the amazing lyrics they have written before these are yuk!

The opposite. He's saying that he doesn't feel tenderness. "Forgiveness is lost on me, i believe in revenge" - this is a passionate man unwilling to become 'safe', whether that be politics, social norms etc..

Great lyrics, apart from Conor Oberst/Nick Cave, there is nothing else of this standard around...Kudos Nicky

(Eats Not Wor) -or- Just The End Dove Love (Song For Neville E. Nuff*)

To fear for gift list
You got a fork if
Deuce either's tars
Or the doctor's big in

You find your wall
I've height form I life
You paid or yous
An isle pay-mime

Eats not wor or
Jus† the end dove love
Jus like beef or
But it's Neville E. Nuff!
Oh, it's Neville E. Nuff

You find your wall
I've height form I life
You paid or yous
An isle pay-mime

To fear for gift list
You got a fork if
It's Sly Stallone - me
I be leaving re: veg

Eats not wor or
Jus the end dove love
Youth? God, the looks!
Bud, I've got the scuzz.
Eats not wor or
Jus the end dove love
Tough eel, some 'ten two'-ness
Do you half two? Gift Up**?
Do you half two? Gift Up?
Ohh
Do you half two? Gift Up?

(guitar solo)

Eats not wor or
Jus the end dove love (Just the end dove)
Jus like beef or
Bud, it's Neville E. Nuff!

Eats not wor or
Jus the end dove love
You weared though thee' stung
Bus shelter: the lust!
Bus shelter: the lust.
Bus shelter: the lust.

Lyric Notes:

*Whoever Mr. Neville E. Nuff is, we don't know.
† Jus = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Au_jus
**Pixar/Disney's *Up was a inspiration for this song

I'm hearing "you've got the looks, but I've got the stuff", which I know it isnt, but it would be great if it was.

Oh and that line reminds me a lot of PSB's "Opportunities" which is in no way a bad thing.

I think it's deffo 'scars.' makes a lot more sense, plus it's a nice ref point back to A Design For Life, "to show the scars" so we know scars already exist in Wire's world haha.

I keep thinking of Shania Twain's That Don't Impress Me Much when I hear that line though!

I think stars makes more sense than scars - you're better looking but I've been luckier.
