I cannot wait.

So the guessing game is fun, this is what I would put on the box:
- double vinyl, with “original tracklist”. And gotta be red color, no?
- additional double vinyl with bsides (will never happen, but wish it did)
- 12” of the so why so sad avalanches mix
- 3 cd set with album and bsides
- book, including photos, artwork, interviews
- dvd (or blu ray, we’re in 2021) with Cuba or another 2001 gig or at least a documentary and all music videos
- and throw in some cool Cuba passes and memorabilia reproductions

I’d buy that.
(Who am I kidding, I’d buy anything)

I wouldn't be surprised if Avalanches ends up on the end of the CD album. Some great B-sides that year.

Maybe some better quality videos of the songs that only came out on the bonus 'Cuba TV' cameras?

I love the time around Know Your Enemy. I always thought it was a great time for them in Cuba, though it possibly wasn't. I wondered if they were staying and from after they released Masses Against The Classes, it seemed uncertain. The album and videos are so varied. Though I love the album I look forward to all the extras from the time. I also hope they do the same with Lifeblood.

It could be better not to forecast what may be included. Though for me I think if they released songs that hadn't made the album, I wouldn't feel disappointed. I also haven't heard some of the b sides. I think they mentioned in an article there is more stuff from the KYE era.

Yes… it might be very obvious to everyone even before I mention it, but I think it’s worth thinking about the fact that once KYE has had an anniversary re-issue, Lifeblood will be the only Manics studio album this side of SATT that hasn’t had one yet…

I’d like to think that now GATS has, and KYE will soon have, anniversary editions, the eventual possibility of Lifeblood getting one improves somewhat. Fingers crossed anyway. 2024 would seem a logical year for it (for a 20th anniversary), so there’s still a bit of time for them to come round to how great it is!

I totally agree with you here too rosetree, for me unreleased songs (or alternate versions of existing songs) will nearly always be the thing I want most from these kind of re-issued albums, and I’d be happy enough with a couple of new tracks. But I also understand how frustrating it can be for many to see reissues from other bands/artists that have had a lot more effort and content put in (though often at eye-watering prices…).

I hope I outlive the band (a very long time from now!) and there’s a super-deluxe collection of absolutely everything, albeit it’d probably be 100% digital by then.

And, to be fair, everything after SATT has at least had a 2CD deluxe edition of some kind. Lifeblood will be the only album to have no expanded release of any kind.
Of course, if they do a Lifeblood one it'll probably end up being worse than the Japanese 2CD edition.

It’s funny and yet scary, because it’s true.

Thank goodness for those Japanese releases at least. Lovely things.

Good point about all the expanded releases on the more recent albums too. I would love even a disc of those earlier versions of the Lifeblood songs we have only heard on those Patrick Jones videos.

But anyway, I’m getting carried anyway, KYE20 isn’t even out yet, and I am looking forward to that.

Unreleased tracks and home recording demos are exactly the sort of thing needed for the boxset. Hopefully there are more things in the 'Treasure Trove' too .Am also hoping the comment about it being a '21st anniversary' is just a pessimistic joke but the global vinyl problem is a fair point.

Wonder if Nicky has the holy grail recording of Intravenous Agnostic live at Llandudno?

So is it ‘Rosebud’ or ‘Roseblood’?

Place your bets!

(Conflicting names of unreleased track in interviews).
