doing is possibly quite a bit to strong a word, so far I've spent a month persuading work to let me go, made a spreadsheet and had a think about what I'd wear.

Provided I can then tackle the slightly more tricky issues of buying flights/tickets etc etc then hopefully minneapolis to boston, mostly I'm starting in minneapolis as the airport code is MSP which I took as a sign.

It's much prettier than I just described but, as I said, a bit on the ridiculously over-dressed side. Can someone else dress ridiculously for New York please???
According to my list I am wearing sequin hotpants and a plain ish top in New York as that seemed the New York thing to wear - I dunno if thats particularly ridiculous though, I guess it depends on your take on ridiculous.

That is a real shame, Alex.

Amanda, I love how you have a list of what to wear before you're even certain you're going.

Cool, that's definitely a sign. I'd love to do more, but Snoo can't really get the time off, and I can't really justify spending too much more money on it. I hope you can make it though. It would be great to see you again! The trip's gonna be a lot of fun.

Seriously, don't worry about wearing military garb nor Soviet medals, etc...people wear that kind of stuff there too. Also, you most certainly won't be arrested for doing so. LOL! It's the Eastern US, not the Bible Belt. Although, even in Biblical land, you're not likely to run into hassels either. Wear what you want though I am a bit concerned about the "hot pants" idea. It's early fall at that time...still might be warm, but chances are, if it's not, you'll freeze your ass off if queing. You may want to bring an alternative outfit just in case.

I'm just consoling myself with the fact I will be able to buy pretty upholstery fabric with the money I would have spent on crazy bus trips around the US. Still wish I was there though

It's ok, I wear hot pants queuing in December/January on a regular basis. I don't really like trousers so pretty much never wear them - I think the last time I wore them to see the manics must have been 2004 maybe? Sleeping bags are the solution, or thermal trousers you whip off and then sling over the barrier once you get inside - I'm a classy girl.

Ben, I'm kinda certain - just not in an all booked up way.

Marvelous. I decided I had to go to this, just in case it was another ten years before the Manics got Stateside again...

I'm certain in a similar way, although I have gig tickets and everything. Going to book the flights tonight I think, once I check for certain whether ash's boss said he can definitely or jut probably have the time off. No-one cares what I do with my time thankfully.

So, all who are going to Philadelphia, is leopard-print or military the general concensus? I do like themes. I'm getting far too excited about this now but I can't decide on leopardprint or military.

I am boring, I just wear jeans and t-shirts, and will be doing just that for this show as well... I suppose I will represent the manics fashion for the past 13 years.

Not planning on dressing up at all really. I'd like to go to NYC but alas I bought a house with my wife this summer so I'm just glad I'm lucky enough to make it to philthydelphia!
