Help with beating the touts!

Consider ing how many people lost out last time, can people share their tips for getting tickets (legally) on Friday morning?

This. Be ready, refreshing and logged in to the respective sites when the time comes. Some sites let you log in and store your payment details against your account etc. - it all helps.

It's the people that fanny around then look for tickets around lunchtime that lose out.

Disagree, clicked at 9 on the dot for dublin, ticket reserved, entered payment details and pressed enter and ticketmaster said there were no tickets left. Might try gigsandtours or See this time...

This is good advice. Find the sites selling the tickets the night before and register all your details well in advance. The heart pounding exercise of typing in your address and card details at 9.01am is stress you can do without. Make sure your logged in to all the sites beforehand and cross your fingers.

See are good in this respect. Another respect in which See excell, is not being Ticketmaster.

Where See do not excel is in their failure to reserve the tickets for you while you enter your details, so you think you've got them, but when you press confirm order the tickets are no longer available. And it's too late to try anywhere else.

Venue box offices are often a good bet, though not always.

I don't think it'll be that bad to be honest. IF you're online and ready at 9am you will get ones.

Try doing it over the phone with ticket master, I had no problems getting 2 standing tickets for dublin - worth a try

See Tickets has always been the most successful for me. Ticketmaster the least.

Of the sites selling the tickets, does one seem better to use over the others? I'm only familiar with Ticketmaster.

I find gigsandtours or seetickets faster, as ticketmaster has those waiting pages.

I wouldn't condone beating anyone. Give them a stern talking to instead. Or a hard long stare freaks people out.
