I was thinking 78 rpm too, but then it occurred to me - how about the wax cylinder format?

looking good so far - new album must be a more Autumnsongish variant of Postcards, available on wax cylinder only and to add to the excitement one can only purchase this from that greatmagazines place that did the Q vinyl.

I reckon Nicky should write a book of lyrics, hand copies of it out to the fans who believe themselves to be decent musicians, get them to write the songs for the lyrics and then send them back for James to decide the best ones, editing them as he sees fit.

Form that into an album of around 12-15 songs, record it straight to tape. And deliver it straight to fans by special James/Nicky/Sean look-alike couriers.

And there we have it. Truly revolutionary. Take that Radiohead!

The band could decide not to release it all and just leave it to bootleggers to record the songs as they're played live.

well, my pic was not so much a box set as it is an 8 track player. ebay suggests you can get them reasonably priced, but i am sure Sony will charge you a couple of hundred for them.

please note - only a limited number of the Sony 8 Track Manic Street Preachers box set will feature the actual album.

I have one of these in the loft, it was brought second hand from a junk shop for my 12th birthday, maybe I could just go back to taping everything off the radio

This thread has been done already, at least twice, like a lot of the threads you start. And what is with your spelling/grammar? I'm not a frickin English teacher or anything but it is consistently wrong, in weird ways.

Presuming for a mo you aren't Nicky, and you're not a random commercial spammer, who the heck are you and don't you read anything on FD before you post? I'm not trying to be arsey, i'm genuinely intrigued. Reveal yourself Manic Shell!

Hopefully someone else remembers so I can honestly say it wasn't an drunk image, but I think I remember James saying "I don't know what direction we'll go in next, it could be a triple album we'll have to wait and see"

Maybe just a random JDB thought, but at least a little something
