Manic Street Preachers Box Set

Most of us have plenty of live bootlegs and all of the band's b-sides (either through buying the singles or other means - in my case, both!) and it's fairly well known that there are little to no Manics songs that haven't been released.

So if the band were to release a boxset at some point in the future that contained all their b-sides, loads of live stuff and the tiny amount of unreleased songs that may or may not exist, would we bother buying it just for the sake of completism?

Personally, I would have to answer yes. Because like many of you I am a total sap when it comes to the Manics. I mean I don't even like KYE that much but I still own it! I don't ever buy greatest hits albums, but I still have Forever Delayed. So in all likelihood I would buy a Manics boxset.

What say you?!

In the days when Id collect any old shit from the yes, these days...im sure any unreleased material would be available to buy separately so nah, unless there were other goodies included.

I love box sets...have a fair few already for other bands. If it was just a re-packaging of whats already officially out then i'd probably wait till it was reduced in price ...but if it had any extras i'll be front of the queue for it They still need to release an updated b-side comp so that could be included. They were released with those japanese vinyl replicas but they're essentially imports arent they? Never officially released over here.

I almost certainly would, even though my passion for the Manics (and all music really) has dwindled in recent times, because I'm in the minority of forumites who don't

I don't own that many Manics items so, if it contained unreleased material, I'd buy it for sure... or even if it had a nice packaging, with linear notes and exclusive pics!

I was thinking the other day that all I had left to complete my collection was Lipstick Traces and The Great Western and then I saw your "Lost Manics Album" with the 50 million b-sides I don't have , so my answer is YES!!! I'm completely obsessed with the b-sides now! Must...complete...collection!!!

I got FD and the remixes for $0.75 on Amazon.com. I only bought it for the bonus tracks. It would have cost more to download them from iTunes individually than it did to ship the CD from the UK.

Yeah, all the b-sides compiled into CDs would be a great enough reason for me. And if it had unreleased stuff, demos etc it'd be even better.

Screw the live filler though.

I would undoubtedly buy it but I'd hope that it'd come in nice packaging, great liner notes, tracks remastered to be at the same volume and be organised in such a way that nothing is left out.

I'd also love a remastered reissue of Generation Terrorists.

I'd definately want some live stuff - I'd love to see a box set of a live gig from every tour. Fat chance.

I would by it (although I wouldn't "die if I didn't). The Manics have always said that they wouldn't release a live album though (not including DVD's, obviously).

No doubt, but it would be great a box worth the money.
I have quite a few box sets and love to read the book while listening to the music in chronological order, discovering unreleased tracks, live rare tracks...
Nowadays you have access to almost every gig a band plays and the Manics have released a best of and a b sides comp, so it's hard to find something new.
On the other hand, it would be great for non-manics fans. I've always thought they are very underrated cause people think they always play the same, while they've changed so much and played so different styles over the years.
