Suicide Alley - Sold on Ebay for £1000!

Blimey!

Did anyone see this?

I wonder if them playing it at Blackwood helped to bring it into people's consciousness?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

There were some great pictures of the band at a really early gig too...and a set list written by Richie!

Fab!

Can anyone top that for Manic Street Preachers memorabilia?

If I had that much spare money I wouldn't hesitate. Sadly enough, I'd sooner have that than a holiday. Not that I have holidays

No cd is worth 1,000. No matter what Richey has done to it.

Tbh, I'm actually rather angry at that person.

When it's one of only 300 vinyls issued it is.
You forget that this won't just be valuable to fans, but to collectors of rare records.

Wow! That's quite a thing to have! The fact that it's got the setlist with the lyrics on is great ("guitar solo bit... ordinary bit... drum bit"!!!). And the gig fliers. Brilliant.

they do look so squeaky clean in those photos though, don't they? It's like punks in a school play!

I suppose I can understand people who collect rare records. Still... that's 1 thousand pounds for a cd.

Personally I think its madness to buy that, but each to their own I suppose...
Angry at the buyer, not the seller.

I think I understand that even less... What business is it of anyone else's what they spend their money on?

well, not only that, but the point of it being "just a record" may be how other people view it (and I do too), but for all we know, this could be something that means a lot to someone for personal reasons. For all we know, they may have saved up for years and years to buy a copy, and it's priceless to them. And, more importantly, does it matter? Someone spent a grand on something. I spend over a grand every three months for our rent. *shrug*

Edit: my post looks a bit silly in light of the post above which was made while I was typing, but my point is still valid

It's not a CD though, it's vinyl. Vinyl commands a higher price.

The pic of them stood in an alley?

Does that suggest that it's a bootleg, then?

(I really know very little about rare records...)

All bootlegs ahve the pic of them on but the band name is underlined on the bootleg and not on the original.

About 2/3 of the original had the pic on them, the remaining hundred were wrapped in a plain sleeve and had an NME review of the single stuck to them.

So what was on offer here is actually the rarest version of their rarest item...

Ahhhh.... I see! So yes when it's one of one hundred, it's not surprising it went for that much!
