I would actually like it if they disappeared for years and came back with huge ZZ Top beards and an album that they had made for themselves and they genuinely loved and weren't likely to slag it off as soon as the next album came out.

They'd better not slag off JFPL, but more importantly, they should NEVER have ZZ Top beards. Ever. XD

He's a bastard - I've read a few interviews and his probably the least sympathetic person I've ever heard of - but he's the world's best producer.

Although Albini didn't fobb off the Manics, he just said that he'd never heard of THB, which isn't a big surprise considering that he isn't British. It's a very underrated record outside Britain, the only honorable mention I've ever heard of is when the German Musikexpress placed at #31 of the best albums of the 90s.

I think you must be determined for the Manics to make yet another middle of the road album like lifeblood or SATT.

I just hope that they have just a tiny bit of edge to the next album unlike that jumped up pomp SATT. It'd seem such a shame to follow something as vital yet dignified with something daft and inane. I'd cry.

Since Know Your Enemy, I've given up predicting what the next album's gonna be like.. Manics are just amazing like that. Last three albums have hardly any connection between them. Whether the next album's gonna be a mishmash of everything they've done so far or something new, I'm probably gonna love it either way.

So far every album that they created, I felt in love with it. So I'm sure the next album will be amazing

I feel the same. I was even in love with SATT until JFPL came out and I realised they could still do so much better!

I don't see why not. Not as if they're lacking in serious material is it? They say it's gonna be happy so hopefully it will be!

I guess the album where they immerse themselves in pure utter misery is never gonna happen now! I'm never gonna get Murder Ballads-Manics style and it cuts me up inside.

I'd like a mix of fast agressive songs and slower more melodic songs. Basically the faster ones based around KYE and the slower ones based around TIMT...that'd make my perfect album!

Born A Girl mark 2! we haven't had any properly beautiful songs for a while save off the new album, stuff like born a girl and small black flowers would be welcome.

Read somewhere the working title is "It's Not War - Just the End of Love"
With a title like that it could mean anything.
