They're only tiny snippets! You can't really judge the songs from that. It'd be like judging Intravenous Agnostic by the tiny clip of it they had on the official site just before Know Your Enemy came out. Well not really, but you know what I mean.

Going by the short clips, the new songs all sound like they have great potential. Hazleton Avenue sounds instantly classic. SKON is one of the most honest and best songs they've done in ten years. Balconies sounds rocking. Descent sounds ten times better than the acousitic demo I heard. Every one of the clips has made me want to hear every track in full - not bad going for 30 second clips. It seems to me that too many people here take music (particluarly the manics) for granted - they have no idea of how difficult it is to write a succesful pop/rock song. And everyone knew this album was going to be more of a pop album than a rock album.

I'm just really looking forward to hearing the album - it sounds fantastic - relaxed, confident, extremely tuneful, and optimistic. Lighten up people for gods sake.

Just to add, sounds like it will be a contender for top 10 album of the year IMO, with possibly a better collection of songs than JFPL (which, by the way, I consider to be a great album - but track by track it doesn't come anyway near EMG or THB).

SATT tried a bit too hard and ended up being neither rocky enough on the one hand or tuneful enough on the other. I always hoped they would an make unanshamedly pop album like this and I reckon they've nailed it.

I think the reasoning runs something like this - because James doesn't appear to be hammering out power chords with the distortion turned up to 9 on most of the tracks, the album can't be any good. Thank god the manics do their own thing.

Arrrgh! Listening to those previews has just made the wait for the new album even more unbearable now! I think as a whole the album sounds really promising, and as much as I loved JFPL I'm glad we're getting something a bit different this time as opposed to JFPL pt. II. Can't wait to hear Wire's SKON demo in full either

I think the Hazelton Avenue lyrics are going to be terrible.

Hazleton Avenue and I Think I Found It remind me of The Great Western.

Auto Intoxication and A Billion Balconies Facing The Sun sounded a little Gold Against The Soul.

I can't really say that much more about the Album as they're only 30 second clips, however I'm excited by the clips.

I thought they sounded like Know Your Enemy/There By The Grace Of God Era B-sides - which is a very good thing!

I can definitely hear elements of It's All Gone in both songs.
