Congrats! I am in a similar position, i.e. engaged and a huge manics fan yet realising much of their work is entirely inappropriate for a wedding, sadly.

I'm thinking of sneaking some instrumentals in... Do you have the Indian Summer Instrumental? That's pretty lovely, if you like it as a song anyway.

so should be awesome

Also, Dizzee Rascal is banned!
I sincerely hope Mark Morrison is banned too, the A Design For Life's no.1-stealing so and so.

well, my avatar (despite what my good friend proevpete would have you believe about it being Bono) features me and my good lady wife having our first dance. the walk down the aisle was my beloved Frankie Goes To Hollywood doing The Power Of Love (although Michele was in such a hurry no one actually got to hear Holly sing), but the first dance? Can't Take My Eyes Off You as recorded by the Manics.

it got everyone up and dancing, and, as we celebrate 7 wonderful married years in just over a week, it sets you up on a good path for the rest of your lives.

all the best for Saturday!

Best use of MSP at a wedding I've been to: Luke and Lydia's awesome use of You Love Us and Stay Beautiful Luke apologised to his grandparents for the swearing.

He also told his Catholic grandparents he wanted to shoot the Pope. It was a good night.

any "sensible" suggestions?

Also, does anyone think Still a long way to go may be sutiable? from the great western

thanks in advance
Congratulations y2kyle16!

When we got married we knew that we had to have some Manics songs played at our wedding - as they were the main reason we first met. (We were penpals who wrote to each other after my husband put an ad in Melody Maker asking for a penpal who liked the Manics!)

We had two Manics related songs at our wedding!

The song that was played at the end of our wedding ceremony was 'Sehnsucht' and then we had our first dance to had 'La Tristessa'.

Having Sehnsucht played was brilliant as no-one else knew who it was apart from me and my husband. For weeks after the wedding we kept getting asked what the song was!

Congratulations, hope you have a great day!

The obvious choice is is TIH...er, sorry just joking.

There is a glorious remix of Motorcycle Emptiness by Stealth Sonic Orchestra, which would be IMHO the perfect wedding entrance music.

Congratulations, have an amazing day. I love this idea, it's a great song and James sings it brilliantly.

Remember to eat or you might end up like me on my wedding day; back at the honeymoon suite and starving, I hadn't eaten since 3pm and it was 2am the next morning!!!! We still laugh about it now cos all I wanted was fish and chips! We celebrate every anniversary with fish and chips and champagne.
