Wanted to bring this thread back to life with resistance is futile being just around the corner.

People still collecting? I was looking at my Japanese Mini LP collection, damn I love those fuckers. Still never got GT or GATS.

Question - was journal for plague lovers also in a similar cardboard/mini lp? I’ve seen the pictures of the “4 real” boo but can’t tell whether it’s a regular jewel case or also a mini lp like the others. Along with the long 2cd special editions, they’re by far my favorite releases.

Anyway. Here’s waiting for:
- resistance is futile and international blue 7”
- this is my truth boxset
- gold against the soul LP re-release (hopefully one day)

I love the replica LP cds too, got an amazing deal on them all not long after they came out, £80 for the lot plus a 2cd Journal. I don’t know why, the seller must’ve bought em, ripped em and decided they couldn’t be arsed with em? They’d taken staples out of all the booklets too, no idea why. The Japanese Journal is just a standard jewel case though, suppose with there being no singles they’d be hard pressed to fill a second cd like the other albums, but there are the remixes, Vision Blurred and the June Brides cover eh?

My collecting has slowed down a lot but I’m still picking up bits. My old uni housemate lives in China these days and every time he comes back to the UK he brings me back a few Asian oddities. There’s a Hong Kong release of National Treasures, who knew??

cool, thanks. wanted to pick it up but i won't if it's not like the others. guess it's just us? lol
i'll post a pic one of these days with some more promos i've acquired over the last year or so. I skipped the futurology promos as I didn't like the plastic and wraparound insert. lazy. i wish they'd do the same as the EMG/TIMT/KYE/greatest hits promos with double paper sleeve. or at least put them in a card sleeve! so disappointing.

Will look forward to that, love this thread. Yeah, the plastic sleeves for the promos are a bit flimsy eh, wonder if we’re seeing the end of physical promos now. As far as singles go very much doubt we’re gonna see another single with more than one physical format again and it’s a shame for us, not for many others mind. The Futurology album promo was in a proper sleeve at least, wouldn’t be surprised if there’s no physical promo of Resistance Is Futile though, probably less radio stations with CD players than without these days eh? Hope there is, just for completist’s sake..

I'm sure the end is near. And even if they do make promos, they make such a small amount. The Noel Gallagher promos for the new album go for over 80-90 pounds on ebay. It's insane. Shame. There's already a gap in my collection and it drives me insane. I had all promos from EMG / TIMT / KYE / FD / LB / SATT and then it got a bit fucked after that.

I was excited with the double 7" release of show me the wonder. Thought the band will continue at least pressing all their singles on 7". Clearly that did not happen with futurology. Damn shame. I now want the international blue 7" but all sites changed to "bundled with the album" only sales so I gotta wait and see if i can pick it up after the album release.

Have seen people trying to charge silly money for some of the more recent promos, particularly closer to their releases. There's been someone wanting £50 for a Postcards single promo on eBay for a while now, daft sod. Only got the Futurology album promo couple of months ago..

It's such a shame that a band that's so into the physical format as they are, aren't seeing their labels release singles so much anymore. Remember reading probably on here a couple of years ago, can't remember if it was Lucy Rose or Cate LeBon, but read about a chat James was having with one of them and her album coming out, she offered to email it to him and he just said nah I'll just buy it. And you know he would. Can't see em stopping releasing physical singles absolutely, would've hoped they'd have tried to negotiate some stipulation in their new deal that they'd be putting singles out. Thought after the last couple of years' A Design For Life and Your Love Alone Record Store Day 12"s, we might be looking at Tolerate one this year but nowt announced. Maybe they'll stick one out later in the year. Kinda surprised they didn't put International Blue 7" back a week and have it linked with Record Store Day.

8 am waiting for my Red LP bundle from the official store, and was able to get an international blue 7”, that’s shipped but waiting.

Has anyone seen any actual promo CDs for this album?

Not seen any at all yet, if there aren't this'll be the first Manics album I don't have any promos for

11 euros good price 100 quid less so but I guess at least it's signed ?

Got the single now. I'd ordered a deluxe with it from a random shop and thought it had got lost or I'd get an email "sorry we ran out" Shame I didn't get it in time for Saturday. Next time ...

Got my 7” today. Beautiful. First 7” since Indian summer if I’m not mistaken.
Still waiting for Red LP/2CD/MC bundle

I am bugging out, lol, you’re right. I was thinking of the CD yes, which I don’t even remember where I got it from, I think off someone on Discogs.

Anyway, that international blue 7” is gorgeous. Nice sleeve, great art in the back, beautiful record. Not in love with the bside but still cool. Chance for another 7 this album cycle? Probably slim to none...
