See, that's a problem in itself. If I were gonna lump the bsides/odd tracks together by era, I'd probably lump There By The Grace Of God with Door To The River, the Motorcycle Emptiness mix thing and the acoustics of Little Baby Nothing and Faster. But officially the THBGOG tracks have been chucked on the Japanese Lifeblood reissue. Oh and I'd have lumped the God Save The Manics tracks in with Lifeblood bsides but officially they were stuck on Lipstick Traces. It's a mess, I tells ya.

I'm glad with iTunes you can consolidate formats to one folder though, labeling tracks as disc 1, 2, 3, 4, whatever instead of naming the albums The Everlasting cd1, The Everlasting cd2, The Everlasting cassette, The Everlasting 12" promo, The Everlasting Dutch cd1, blah blah blah. It's a bit tidier...

I used to call them fancy names, usually lines I loved taken from the lyrics, and I created well thought out track sequences for them, but these days the only comps I've got that exist are the boring chronological ones I made for my iPod, imaginatively titled Manics B-Sides I-V.

At the moment I've got four slimmed-down b-sides/demos/rarities collections on my iPhone, with my favourite 10 or 12 from a particular category, and these albums are called:

1. Loud Electric B-Sides, Demos and Rarities.
2. Mellow Electric B-Sides, Demos and Rarities.
3. Acoustic B-Sides, Demos and Rarities.
4. NICKY SINGS!!!!!! YEEAAH!!!!

Ahem

Regards,
Marwood.

I also have a Nicky playlist, though it's not just b-sides - it's all of the album tracks he's sung on, IKTZ, and audio samples of his rants ("naturally fucking intelligent" and so forth). It's called, er. . ."NICKEHHH"

Mine is made up of album tracks, b-sides and demos from JFPL/PFAYM. IKTZ and the solo b-sides and stuff are all under artists>nicky wire.

Regards,
Marwood.

My playlist is called Prologue to Apathy. Reaches places Lipstick Kisses can't touch.
