But at least James hasn't hired a third guitarist to do his stuff as his arms can't play as well as they used to. Right, Keith Richards? (You skull faced chimpanzee!)

So basically you are saying you know the right answer and how people vote will tell you if your first statement is right? Kinda patronising, don't you think?
I admit I wrote the post inspired by your moaing about everyone thinking their opinion's the only right one in another thread

The Manics will not stop making music mainly because of Faster Studios. All us married men (sorry ladies of FD) need a place to escape to and they've hinted in interviews that they go there to make music but also to potter about watching Sky Sports and stuff. So yes they will keep making music and thank goodness for that.

Much I think them ending in 1995 would make a great story, I love a lot of their post-Richey output and gigs, so I'm happy for them to still be here.

When they do decide the end of the band is nigh, I hope they continue doing little solo pieces and/or soundtracks.

If you'd asked me this question after Journal For Plague Lovers, I'd have said yes. It would've been a great place to call it a day. But then we'd never have gotten such interesting and different albums as Rewind The Film and Futurology. So no, I don't think they should quit being the Manics as they clearly have new musical places that they've yet to travel to. Futurology proves that they can still make great albums that reward repeat listens.

Postcards From A Young Man never happened.

I would love to see James record some more solo stuff but not necessarily at the expense of the band. Then again, I do rate TGW higher than the majority of Manics albums, if not all so I dunno, a James tour without Nicky girls would be welcome (except the ones that are friends with me - quickly getting that in there...).

After three largely disappointing albums, it is difficult to keep hope. I'd definitely see them live again but I'm not sure I can continue to think they're ever going to release an album I'd be in love with again.

No excuse for the dross they've churned out for X amount of years.

If I had the cash I might invest in a pottery studio but I wouldn't expect the masses to appreciate my wonky vases for the sake of me needing something to do.

I'd imagine if thousands of people continued to buy your wonky pots it would be okay

Yes, but I wouldn't feel satisfied. I don't have it in my character to sell sub standard pots.

Don't know if this has ever been mentioned before, or if anyone else thinks this, but I really don't think JDB and Wire "gel" anymore. It's probably sacrilege to some fans to imagine anyone else being involved with the writing set-up of MSP, but I'd be interested to hear something if Wire collaborated with someone else on lyrics. Or if Wire just didn't write the lyrics.

James doesn't seem to me like he needs a band. He should move on to something else musically - film sountracks for eg.

I don't think they feel it is substandard, nor do the people who enjoy them?
