I'd say it's named after the willem de kooning painting of the same name, surely? I expected them to call it faster but i guess they want a break from the past, a new beginning, everything must go...

That makes sense, yeah. Plus it happens to be a lovely manics song to boot, though i'm not particularly that fond of it.
