Post Manics Blues

The only reason I'm not going to this one is no flights from Brisbane could get me there on time after work on Sun night. I think I really should have been one of those fans who planned to go to all the gigs from the start. I hope they come back soon so I can do that. I'm also in withdrawl - glad I caught them in Brisbane and Adelaide, sad I didn't get to see more and meet them. Tears galore last night. Is there such a thing as post concert blues?
Hopefully one of my Facebook friends will be going tonight after I and another Sydney friend ranted about how good they are. I hope one of you going gets to post some great photos.
Enjoy!

The gig was just brilliant. Words can't really do it justice.
I never knew there were so many fans in Perth.
Metropolis is a fairly small venue, I think the capacity is 1500, but I don't think it was a sellout by any means.

James' said Perth fans were the loudest during the singalong to Everlasting. Aww, I bet he says that to all the towns.

A couple of standout moments for me;
  • the enthusatic crowd response to you stole the sun! I had no idea it was so pop-pop-popular over here
  • Nick calling James his "guitar hero" during NSAF
  • This is Yesterday - a real treat to hear something from THB (other than Faster)
  • Wahhh Design for Life complete with synchronised jumping from James & Nick.

Met the boys after the show (round the back of the building for those that are interested). They were all so happy and obliging with photos, autographs & chats.
James apologised for the technical difficulties (some sort of amp issue, did anyone catch his my bloody valentine quip? ).

I think I saw a few of you there, I was the sweaty mess in the faceless sense of void shirt.

There are already a few vids on youtube. These are not mine, but whoever did them - thanks!!

Australia

Everlasting

Here's a photo of Nick after the show;

Oh my gosh. Thats it....Come and gone!

So, to sum it up:

- Finally saw them live. Finally after all these years!
- Amazing setlist and trip down memory lane, given it was my first concert.
- Meeting them in person & telling them how much i appreciate & love them.....priceless
- James saying they will be back in 2 years. YAY!
- The finale...Design for Life....best 5 minutes of my life

And to finish off:

Long live the Manics. One of the best bands EVER!

it was a brilliant gig...i saw them in Sydney as well and i thought this one was a notch above, i put this down to James playing his LP Custom without the pick-up covers (which he didn't do in Sydney), i noticed it as soon as he put the guitar on, and when You Love Us started the difference was noticeable.

my mate took a photo of me and James, though he doesn't look too impressed, i assure you he was overwhelmed to meet me...
