I guess that's why he once said that the best gift he ever got from a fan was when one sent him a packet of dirt to throw onto his carpet and then hoover up.

That would be intolerable. Better to screen it in the venues before the Manics come on in place of the support band surely. Something to quell the boredom while we wait.

Yeah, screening some of this film at the gigs in October would be cool indeed, before and after the support act come on. Generate some interest.

Dunno if the band would like that, it might seem a bit narcissistic to show bits of a film about yourself on tour, but it might interest the casual fans and would make waiting more interesting.

It'd be a real shame if ye can't get this film released into a decent number of theatres by the time the next album is out. There'll be free publicity aplenty not to mention additional ticket sales.

Hopefully an investor picks it up in time. Assuming the documentary is in digital form distribution surely wouldn't be as costly/prohibitive as printing on film would.

Those are all excellent points. Unfortunately, however, we will not be able to release the film by the time the album comes out. Even if we were to get the money next week, there still would not be enough time before the album release for us to arrange the details of the distribution and promotional strategies. We had originally hoped to release the film in advance of the album and tour, however, with the album coming much sooner than expected, this will not be possible from a purely logistical standpoint.
