Aye, that's how I'm imagining it too. Not a crazy song choice by any means, the question is why they're bothering to do this at all. I suppose they're just trying to keep the Radio 2 lot on side, seeing as the current album is too artsy for them.

Correct me if I'm wrong and Ken Bruce has been playing Europa on a daily basis.

They did, did a cover of Badlands and called it 'All we make is entertainment'

I think you've mixed up your ID3 tags somewhere...

Plus it's could pay off as the Stones could hear it and think "Hey, let's have the Manics are our support act of our next American tour!".
If I've thought that, I'm confident this thought has crossed the minds of the band.
And knowing their luck Keith will probably die as they sign their support contract!

And Motorcycle Emptiness is clearly just a rip off of Hit Me Baby One More Time.

As for their hideous version of Yellow Submarine (Found That Soul) less said the better...

I finally got a listen to this just now.

Strikes me as an average Manics cover version. It's no Drowners, Wrote For Luck, We Are All Bourgeois Now, Red Sleeping Beauty or Vision Blurred, admittedly, but it's no Working Class Hero either.

Shame I associate the song so much with Windows '95.

And now suddenly The Rolling Stones get the idea to play an album of theirs in full!

I think Umbrella (both the regular and acoustic versions) is the Manic's best cover... I'll see myself out.

I like it too, particularly the acoustic version. Wouldn't say the best mind!
