Ah yes but I could be here all day listing records better than SATT, that’s a dangerous can of worms there... There would be four Arctic Monkeys albums!

Just to re-rail this thread, what I’d like to see the Manics boys do next is to stop giving a fuck about the idea of “mass communication” and make something a bit more experimental and challenging. JFPL was a brilliant, confrontational and challenging album and it’s the best thing they’ve done in years. Just, you know, don’t worry about the charts so much.... Those days are gone. The only people that give a fuck any more are on here anyway!

Indeed, but you said Suck It And See was better than JFPL, which is crazy talk.

JFPL was the best album of the last 10 years, AM did one decent album, and it was not the latest one which is boring as hell. I like to think that the young Alex Turner would suicide if he saw the state of his band now.

I think he'd be more excited about looking, sounding, and feeling as cool as fuck and having a really good time.

Sod the Arctic Monkeys.

I want something raw and riffy from the next Manics album. Something self-indulgent. Something they'd play live, and that would be intense.

Even though I'm not much of a fan of PFAYM, I'd happily go along with this

I'm hoping they do a big band album called Let Robeson Swing.

I quite like the Arctic Monkeys now and as they were but I have to say that in developing a more mature rock sound, they've lost the energy they started with and just sound like so many other bands.
