Heavenly - part of EMI? they seem to like each other
or maybe they will stay in Sony? or release their new album in their own label? I don't think they would do the same as Radiohead did.
They still have one more album on their deal with Sony - it's a ten album deal, not including compilations.

before JFPL they said their next album would be their last with Sony, and that after JFPL they'd be trying something different.

I imagine it'll be SATT meets TIMTTMY

It was quite widespread that JFPL is their last one with Sony. Or was it only a speculation?

Please no. Rather the 'Rappin' Jimmy' stuff than another mid-tempo boredom.

I hope it's going to be a more acoustic album. "Facing Page: Top Left" meeting "Small Black Flowers..." and the more ambient-like songs like "S.Y.M.M.". The only thing I really don't want is Eringa as the producer. All their strongest albums had a different producer. What about Rick Rubin or Brian Eno?

Stylistically, JFPL is the perfect Manics album, a middle ground between THB and EMG. I'd just like them to build on this sound while experimenting a bit more with the actual songs so as not to just repeat themselves.

indeed.
rather than just another self-parodying album like SATT, i'd like something that covers the diversity of the manics with some actualy depth. Even Nicky said SATT was quite a shallow album.
I'd like it to be:
25% Dirty Hard Post Punk
25% Acoustic Loveliness
25% EMG/TIMT Anthemic style (without going all SATT)
25% Ambient soundscape post-rock type stuff e.g. The Vorticists etc

each style explored in greater depth, rather tha just being repetetive.
3 of each. 12 tracks. 4 singles, one of each style. deeper and more meaningful lyrics. brilliant.

they'll be sued by Coldplay, Satriani and few others for stealing Viva La Vida-esque melody haha

I've heard about Rick's methods of work. he wants the band to write lots of tracks and then chooses the best tracks. he leaves the band all the time and just demands for better tracks. he's quite overbearing, I don't think the Manics would agree for such deal.

I like short albums, not longer than 45 minutes. I really dislike long albums or double albums. what for? I want it short.
