Did someone really decide to make the Prodigy clash with the Chemical Brothers at a festival and THEN put the poor ickle Manics up against the both of them?

Any idea if they had a break in between THB and the last four songs? Where they playing as a three piece or five?
I think 3 piece might be easier for this festival, but it does mean they'll have to drop a lot of their other set. |

I'll say this about the crowds out there in Japan, they love to get into the gigs at festivals unlike when you see British crowds all like statues looking like they'd rather be anywhere else and only moving when the camera cranes over them. Hope some more videos appear soon from this performance.

Japanese TV channel WOWOW tweeted: "Thank you, Manics! Bassists named 'Nicky' can only be cool people."
They added hashtags 'Welsh Nicky' (#ウェールズのニッキー) and 'American Nicky' (#アメリカのニッキー) but nobody has taken them up. Who is the American bassist Nicky then, Nikki Sixx? [note: I don't know how many native Japanese speakers are on FD but I can read Japanese to a below-native level so hit me up if you want me to try translating something.]

Japanese fan Kamakuma sketched James sweating up a storm in Osaka yesterday but she still declared him to be handsome.
"Ahh, it's hot, ahh it's hot, ahh, it's hot", he says.

I managed to time my trip to Japan to include Summer sonic Osaka, and I'm very glad I did! Really great gig, I've not seen the Manics play THB before so I was amazed by how they handled some of the songs. I'd mention my favourites but I realised that I'd be listing most of the songs if I did! And the crowd were, as you mentioned above, great. Before the last song of the four extras, James said "this is a folk song from Wales". And then they kicked off Design for life.
Has anyone seen any recordings of the gig? I've only found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAVVduwMczs
