He'd mentioned it several times for recent years, I think the latest one was a radio interview. I can vaguely remember which interview it was though there are so many of them.

I'm sure Nicky will have something else in the pipeline!

Yes, I'm pretty sure there's an interview or quote somewhere about him calling his biog of the band 'The Unwritten Diaries'. Don't remember Richey's leftover stuff ever having a collective name as such, other than when they became Journal...

Without meaning to be rude, given I don't know, it may be that he has discovered that he just cannot write a decent biography as a book...the book he published was photos after all, and whilst I am sure he has the indepth knowledge it doesn't necessary translate to an ability to write one.

He could use a ghostwriter. Unless he repels them.

I think you have a point actually. To me I feel he's someone whose attention span and planning ahead doesn't really equate to writing something as all-encompassing as an entire band biography (especially one covering 30-odd years ). Things like lyrics, forewords to other books and album liner notes seem to be more his level (that we know he's definitely capable of, so far at least), without meaning to sound overly harsh.

I still think it's a joke that he has a degree, he admitted Richey wrote some of his essays for him.

That's a shame it doesn't seem like we'll get a 2nd book then. I'm sure he'll release something in the future showing off his collection of postcards or something daft. I'd just love a book written with loads of behind the scenes type stories from the early days up until present days with cool photos (good ones, not the type of blurred tree stuff in his first book haha).

Why? I know so many people with degrees who had help with their essays/assignments, its certainly doesnt mean he shouldnt have a degeee.

I'd still like Nicky's version of things and if I have to wait for that I will, if he wants a ghost writer I'll volunteer for that too. Seriously, I'm sure Faber and Faber can get a great ghost writer for him to work with.

If I was his ghost writer, I'd have the story going backwards.
He starts off a millionaire on his 11th album in chapter one, and as the book goes on, he starts losing the money etc.
Until the final chapter of the book he's a child again with the rest of the band.
The advantage of doing it this way would mean it has a happy ending.
A "Time's Arrow" music biography. It'd work!

If someone else writes your essays for you and you get caught, you aren't getting a degree...
