Actually I like the new EMG song titles much better. Much more cohesive while still pretty funny.

Finally gotten around to updating the Gerald Ford: Plague Lover section. Take a peek. And whoever contributed Postcards From Tim Roth tracklisting - great stuff! Going to work on the story part of that article now - including the recent debacle over PFAYM

Okay, all done. Just need someone to write the story part for Know Your Limits as I'm really out of ideas now

Ahaha, I love this - especially the bit about the 'secret gig' drama.

"In an effort to win the fans back and put an end to the lawsuit before it had begun, the Manics arranged a competition; they were to play an album launch gig at the YMCA in Hammersmith, London, a gig that was open only to friends, family and record industry types. The band announced that a select number of fans would be able to win tickets through the competition, allowing them to attend. Things seemed to go well until the night of the gig, when fan backlash reached fever pitch over the fact that the band had not simply opened the doors and allowed anyone and everyone into the venue. Word reached the band early on that death threats had been made against them, but the Manics decided to go ahead with the gig - though this had clearly rattled them, as they went on to deliver one of the worst live performances of their career. "

Sat here near tears with laughing, I want to know who wrote that cos it's brilliant

I wrote everything except the Know Your Limits article (which was someone else here) and a couple of people here helped me with tracklistings. Other than that, I wrote the whole article. Glad you enjoyed it

Well I was one of the faintly disgruntled fans (although not half as aggrieved as some!) and that line brought it home and really made me laugh, so well done

It kept switching between first person and third person narrative, which stops it looking like it's supposed to be serious - which is what would make it funny! I've gone over and started the article from scratch (anyone can edit it) but I've run out of ideas. If anyone else feels up to the challenge, I've made a start so hopefully that will help:

I've included stuff from our Made Up Manics Facts thread, but what I've written so far is okay but not hillarious really. I'm much happier with the article me and my brother wrote for Queen (the band). Had to remove something from it recenly because someone added loads of paedophile jokes to it, but it's back in good form now. Check that out if you have chance
thats miles better, great work, well done.
