A few thoughts...

Setlist isn't exciting on paper, at all. But it was way better than I thought.

THB and GATS only getting a look-in during the acoustic set, however that was the best acoustic Faster I've seen. He was in a playful mood.

4Ever Delayed was great musically but lyrically it's pretty weak, not sure why they love it so much. If they want to play curios then give me a Patrick Bateman, or something from JFPL which seems to have been consigned to history. 4Ever Delayed, Grave of God and Horses under Starlight all have a similar feel.

5 new songs is great, only had 2 on the Futurology tour. Would have loved an In Eternity or a Broken Algorithms though.

Sound quality was poor which meant HMLAH didn't translate too well which was a shame, but People Give In sounded amazing.

Drums sounded massive. Sean Moore is incredible.

Wayne has way more to do now, I missed the EMG tour so maybe it started there... But him playing the lead on NSAF really works well. That organ-led rhythm sound pre-Wayne is a thing of the past, much less intrusive. He even gets to do a solo?! (WMTTB) and doesn't mess up the backing vocals on Slash N Burn anymore like at the O2... (bet that was an awkward conversation). He did a good job of Dylan & Caitlin too.

I think that might be the first time I've seen them play Robeson with electric lead... normally James has an acoustic? Might be wrong. I enjoyed it.

Full band Kevin Carter > Ocean Spray.

James was in great form I thought. Really enjoyed it.

Let Robeson Sing? I like the song in its live incarnation but it's a crowd killer.
5 songs off a new album is a lot, for them, anyway?

What new songs are they playing live then? Just the four 'singles' and HMLAH?

Three of the four singles plus People Give In (a highlight I thought) and HMLAH. Although they also played Liverpool revisited at the first gig.

Cool full concert! Had to chuckle at James' comment about people buying that Showman soundtrack and telling them to fuck off cos it's a piece of shit haha.

His anger is misplaced. More people bought RIF than TGS the week it came out.

Bit late to this thread, as I was also at Manchester last night, so haven't really had chance to come online. Brum was a lot better than Newcastle. The crowd down the front were a bit livelier and the band seemed in better spirits too; especially Nicky, who seemed a lot happier than I've seen him in ages. He was vocal and everything! I preferred the setlist for this one too, as we got TBTGOG and Masses. I think I've heard Horses Under Starlight enough now though and would rather they played something else, either another RIF song or a different (better) b-side, but oh well never mind

I'll post some photos later, but going to see Infinity War shortly, so it will have to wait
