Your ultimate Manics album

Ok. I'm finding myself getting stupidly excited about the EMG20 gigs so I've been listening to the Manics again.

I wanted to make my "ultimate" Manics album for a road trip so I set myself the following rules to make it interesting.

Give it a go. If there is any overlap (if your fav opening track is also your favourite live song, for example, then just choose your 2nd fav)

1. Your favourite opening track
2. Your favourite "hit"
3. Your favourite album track
4. Your favourite "Richey" lyric
5. Your favourite B-side
6. Your favourite Jimbo guitar solo
7. Your favourite song when seeing them live
8. Your favourite song the Manics seem to hate
9. Your favourite acoustic track
10. Your favourite "Wire" lyric
11. Your favourite track that no one seems to appreciate
12. Your favourite closing track

I'm gonna have a think today and get back to you guys.

Should be fun!

Sure, this sounds like a fun idea. Let's give it a go:

1. "Yes" or "Peeled Apples" - can't quite decide
2. "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next"
3. "Marlon J.D."
4. "Faster"
5. "Donkeys"
6. "Archives Of Pain"
7. "Motown Junk"
8. "S.Y.M.M."
9. "1404"
10. "Ready For Drowning"
11. "Be Natural"
12. "Condemned To Rock 'n' Roll"

Each individual choice seems to make sense to me but, when you put them together, that's a very random playlist!

opening track - Sleepflower
"hit" - Faster
album track - Condemned to Rock n Roll
"Richey" lyric - Jackie Collins Existential QT (unedited)
B-side - Patrick Bateman
Jimbo guitar solo - Condemned to Rock N Roll*
song the Manics seem to hate - I don't know what they seem to hate
acoustic track - This Is Yesterday
"Wire" lyric - n/a
track that no one seems to appreciate - Hibernation
closing track - Condemned to Rock n Roll*

*Edit because my comprehension skills are poor ("If there is any overlap (if your fav opening track is also your favourite live song, for example, then just choose your 2nd fav")
Jimbo guitar solo - (Sleepflower also gone, so...) Comfort Comes
I can't do the closing track one, because there is no alternative to Condemned. Sorry for fucking up the list.

Thinking about my answers is the harder part for me. I guess I'd need more than one album to write down.

But this is indeed a cute idea. May even give an inspiration for a playlist.
