Oh yeah, just seen it’s the only song with a time on it so looks like it’s the next single.

Distant colours doesn't sound like the title of a single but neither did International Blue and that ended up being the best single they've released in 10 years.

Maybe they're going for a colour concept for their singles...

EMG and Lifeblood both had the second and third track as singles.
But then PFAYM had the first three as singles. So did TIMTTMY.
RTF and that'll do for now. Might not be a golden rule, but it's a good omen for the album.

I admire bold, heartfelt statements of opinion but I can't agree with this. Indian Summer, Walk Me To The Bridge and Futurology were all better.

International Blue was better than most of the other singles over the same period, though, I'll grant you that (particularly those from PFAYM and RTF). And pretty much anything is better than Together Stronger.

There should be some sort of Nicky lyric algorithm. This is alarmingly close to a viable lyric of his.

Walk Me To The Bridge is fantastic. Especially with the Richey undertones. But IB is certainly their most engaging single since YLA. That doesn't mean it's the best ever, but certainly it's to be applauded.

Yeah IB could really be huge and on the end of year compilations, but I still feel Walk Me To The Bridge should have been as successful.

See, I'm not trying to think about the next single. There was always the expectation I have with the Manics, but I'm lowering it, keeping myself busy and not think about it for the maximum effect.
Some would request to be removed from Spoiler forums on other places, I want to do something similar until it gets played.
I'm not expecting another WMTTB or IB AARRGH!! See how difficult it is?
It's 2017 and we have no new Manics material. It's 2017 and we have no new Manics material...

WMTTB had a great chorus and riff but there’s something about that verse that can’t be saved.

For me it's the jarring way James sings "at the indie disco" the second time. Otherwise the song is brilliant.

You know, I haven't actually listened to the album version since maybe 2014. I always enjoy the welly boots Glastonbury 2014 version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPWcFacPzZ8

Same here. The fear of disappointment is too much. New material is so often an emotional coin toss (I'm looking at you, PFAYM).
