The programme is maddening this year. You used to be able to print off a PDF that you could at least spend an hour or so flicking through. Now you can only page through lists of events online and there's no categorisation by event type... argh! Bring back Guardian sponsorship!

Patrick Jones is reading on the 2nd June - not the same day as James sadly. The online Hay programme is always crap, and they don't send out paper ones until everything is sold out.

The full PDF is going online today, and you can hover over the quick view events to see descriptions

Bugger, already got an early ticket for Paul Merton at the same time!!!*'''%&%&$$£!
I've been going for years - it's my favourite time of year, especially as I can't physically do music festivals any more.... Can't recommend it enough if you have the slightest interest in literature, music, history or politics. Pity it's being sponsored by the Torygraph this year, will miss the free bags with the daily Guardian; will not buy the Torygraph under any circumstances. Children's events always sell out early so get in there soon!

One year I want to get organised and go for a few days and really enjoy it. I love Hay, it's beautiful even in the rain.
