Tube train songs

Ok, sorry if this thread is a bit Londoncentric although I guess it could apply to any train journey, I do feel there is something very different about the those morning tube journeys.

Anyway to the point of my post, yesterday the shuffle picked Empty Souls just as I sat on the tube heading a couple of stops on the Northern Line, and I could not help but think this track is perfect for this situation.

So what's your tube track?

Not really a tube track but a few years ago the shuffle picked Askew Road at the exact moment when the bus passed Askew rd (sounds cheesy but it was weird for me as I'm not a Londoner and I had been doing that journey for weeks not knowing A. road was there...).

Song for a departure works pretty well for me, in fact Lifeblood is a great travellig album.

First time I ever properly listened to 'removables' was on a subway train in New York on my first trip there in 97/98 or so. Til that point it had only ever been an album track to me, but it somehow made it onto a tape I'd brought with me for the trip; it came on and immediately clicked with me in that moment and that situation, and is now forever associated with that trip and me at that point in time.

Bit of unnecessary further detail, I think we were under City Hall at the point.

If we're to include other bands and methods of transport, I always, ALWAYS have to listen to Pet Sounds when flying, and Boxer by The National once transferring on the other side - 'fake empire' is a great fuzzy jetlagged where the hell am I type track.

the obvious Bowie track to have on a train would be Station To Station, but trust me on this - get V2 Schneider loaded on to your device next time you are on the tracks.

I often listen to "Song For Departure" on the subway. Especially on the way home.
