Bands that have ripped the Manics off?

I found this one indie band call Carnage Candy, who have completely stole their look/songtitles etc. Take a look:

Hi

There's a band called Miss Black America that are heavily inspired by the Manics, I think one could argue whether they actually "ripped them off" or not though...I'm not that familiar with them so maybe someone else can comment further on that.

Haha, thanks for sharing that page on Carnage Candy - I particularly liked the title of their 1999 demo, "It Is Impossible To Breathe Smothered In Your Apathy" - its so bad its almost good, in a hilarious kind of way

Kele from Bloc Party stole an unused Richey lyric that had been mentioned in interviews by the Manics. Something about cutting off Ballerina's (spelling?) feet.

Nothing wrong with being inspired by the Manics image - Better than all the Gallagher imitators out there!

I think it was the bassist, Gordon Moakes who stole it, he's a big Manics fan.

Kinesis. They were signed to Columbia, Martin Hall was their manager, Mitch Ikeda did their photographs, they provided a stencil for people to make tshirts of their lyrics and even went as far as having a song called Faceless Sense of Void.

From the moment I saw James Dean Bradfield spinning around the SECC in Glasgow I was desperate to be in a band!

Some of our stuff is quite "Manicsy" - but only a couple of songs.

We have just finished recording the first album ourselves - it's a complete DIY job - but there's 1 song on there about Richey and musically it's an homage to the Manics.

I've written the next album which I want to sound like OK Computer meets The Holy Bible!

Ha, I bought their album. Haven't heard it for years though...

Err... King Adora?

I'm kinda surprised that there aren't any bigger bands to have been heavily influenced by Manics. Radiohead, Oasis and Blur have got a handful each these days, and Manics weren't that far behind them in popularity when these new bands were growing up..

I think Ikara Colt were Manics fans, although that didn't come across in their music at all, moreso in interviews.

The Living End, Australian punk outfit, are unashamed Manics fans particularly lead singer and song writer Chris Cheney.

He was at the show in Melbourne in 1999.

then 12 months after that gig they released "Pictures in the Mirror"

have a listen and tell me it's not the Manics song they never wrote...

That link didn't work for me but I've heard that band before.

If I remember correctly they are VERY Greenday...haven't heard a Manics type song from them though
