When's the next album due?

So Resistance Is Futile came out last April - time's gone by quick, but also it seems a lot longer ago. Anyway. I've not read anything myself about a new album but I imagine the guys have been working on stuff in the past year, and with their new studio they will be more settled now as it was all up in the air and moving before RIF. I hope we get a new one this year, or perhaps a one-off single

I'd love something before the Truth"20" shows or maybe after the upcoming tour.
Sean has completed his overseas fundraising travelling and got new tattoos.
Last interview James quoted in as saying next would be recorded quickly.
Stuff has probably been done, but no idea if it's the next thing they'll do or we even hear.
There could be record company bollocks of stuff being held of for new year, but wasn't that what they signed a new deal for?
I still reckon there isn't a single note of it recorded from the demos and demos.
But yeah, looking forward to whatever the next one is.

Yes, I remember reading on the Truth sleeve notes that Nicky played double bass on 'Black Dog On My Shoulder'.

They tend to take a year or two between albums these days, given they have kids and whatnot. But then, they had that longer than usual period of inactivity prior to RIF, so maybe they have a store of unreleased songs? I dunno, but I'm not holding my breath.

Which is still comparatively short by most contemporary artists' standards. Still, we had a one-two with JFPL / PFAYM and RTF / Futurology, so there's nothing to say they can't knock one out pretty quickly. But as there's nothing to suggest there's actually an album around the corner I reckon we'll still be waiting until next year.

Indeed - I thought the sleeve said double bass but it's been a few years since I looked over it!

My guess is it'll be recorded this year and we'll get it in about a year's time.

That sounds about right.

Nicky said shortly after RIF that James had loads of ideas and a new album could happen soon.

Then again he said they might not release another album about three days before RIF was announced.

So James has removed his initial ban on Nicky playing fretless instruments then!
