13 for the single

14 for the album

You'll think I'm being pessimistic. I think I'm being optimistic.

The album would have to be an abysmmal flop for that to happen.

The competition, release date-wise...

Singles 13.9

Ash – Sky Burial (7”)
Big Boi – Follow Us
Bombay Bicycle Club - Rinse Me Down
The Boy Who Trapped The Sun - Dreaming Like A Fool
Bright Light Bright Light – Love Part II
Crowded House - Either Side Of The World
Debi Nova – Drummer Boy
Die Antwoord - Enter The Ninja
Estelle feat Nas – Fall In Love
Example - Last Ones Standing
Gypsy & The Cat – Jona Vark
Here We Go Magic – Casual
Iyaz – So Big
Jukebox The Ghost – Hold It In (7”)
Loick Essien - Love Drunk
Manic Street Preachers - (It's Not War) Just The End Of Love
Mumford & Sons - Thistle And Weeds
Paul Weller - Fast Car/Slow Traffic / Andromeda
Renee Fkeming – Intervention
Seal – Secret
Summer Camp – Round The Moon (7”)
Unkle – The Answer (EP) [Limited]
White Rabbits - The Salesman (Tramp Life)
Foals - Spanish Sahara [13/09]
Locnville – Sun In My Pocket [13/09]
Maroon 5 – Misery [13/09]

Albums 20th Sep...
Black Country Communion – Black Country Communion
Chief - Modern Rituals
Chromeo – Business Casual
Crystal Fighters - Star Of Love
Cyndi Lauper - Memphis Blues
Diddy Dirty Money – Last Train To Paris
Edwyn Collins - Losing Sleep
Eleanor McEvoy – I’d Rather Go Blonde
Liza Minnelli – Confessions
Manic Street Preachers – Postcards From A Young Man
Maroon 5 – Hands All Over
Maximum Balloon - Maximum Balloon
Ne-Yo – Libra Scale
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark — History Of Modern
Primary 1 – Other People
Santana - Guitar Heaven: Santana Performs The Greatest Guitar Classics Of All Time
Seal - Seal VI: Commitment
Serj Tankian - Imperfect Harmonies
Tiffany Page – Walk Away Slow

Nothing major league in there (Maroon 5/Ne-Yo/Example at a push) so their main competition is going to be what's in the top 10 from the week(s) before. Aren't these X-Factors gimps performances gonna be up for aftershow download or is that later in the series? That would screw any hope of a Top 10 single straight away.

If Crowded House's new single is any good I might be worried about that one!

I want to re-record Autumnsong as a tribute to Santana?
"Santana, what you done to your career?/ Did you chase the almighty dollar?/ Or has a flashback made you lose your hair?/ Tell me Whatthefuck have you done to your career?"

You should release that Aaron. Could have a top ten hit with that!

Probably Estelle featurig Naz will be the competiton in the singles charts as its currently filled with that sort of crap. Mabe Maroon 5 in the albums as its their first for years. I'm intrigued by the 'Black Country Communion!! whats that all about, I wonder if its something to do with the Pope's visit? although he is visiting Brum not the Black Country

No TOTP these days so even if It's Not War does get to No 1 won't be able to sit down and watch a live version of it on a Friday evening.

no big name competition, but no one sees the manics as big name either. I think single 6
Album 3

I see the Manics as a big name! Oh for wotsisface (sorry, name's gone) introducing them as the 'Mighty Manics' on TOTP!

why do people think they'll do so poorly when they're in a better position than they were with YLAINE?

Bearing in mind this is what the bloody singles chart looks like these days and it's not "Manic Street Preachers Feat. " (and bearing in mind even U2 couldn't bag a top 10 hit with ANY of the songs off their last LP) I reckon single No13, album No6. Hope I'm wrong.

1 [2] > CLUB CAN’T HANDLE ME > Flo RIDA feat. David GUETTA
2 [4] > LOVE THE WAY YOU LIE > EMINEM feat. RIHANNA
3 [-] > MISSING YOU > The SATURDAYS
4 [3] > WE NO SPEAK AMERICANO > YOLANDA BE COOL and DCUP
5 [1] > BEAUTIFUL MONSTER > NE-YO
6 [6] > BILLIONAIRE > Travie MCCOY feat. Bruno MARS
7 [7] > AIRPLANES > B.O.B feat. Hayley WILLIAMS
8 [5] > ALL TIME LOW > The WANTED
9 [8] > PACK UP > Eliza DOOLITTLE
10 [-] > IN MY SYSTEM > Tinchy STRYDER

JDB needs to get a baseball cap, a bad baggy tracksuit from Primark, a few speeding tickets and David Guetta's mobile no. Oh and put some lovely shiny lady buttocks on the album cover (obviously).
